Vintage hand crochet lace and embroidery on a cotton linen table runner or dresser scarf. Beautiful handwork in embroidery featuring a young girl in a bonnet holding flowers surrounded by a "frame" with a pretty bow and floral accents. Handmade with great attention to detail. We know this to be from an estate, and therefore can date this to the time the decedent was crocheting and doing other fine handiwork. (c. 1950's)
Very good vintage condition. No tears, holes or other damage to note. Some age feint spots which may be from the starch used years ago - you have to REALLY look to find them. The colors are bright and there are no signs of fading.
The crochet lace trim along the edges was done in a variegated pink color. The embroidery design was done in fine embroidery thread and features a young girl who has brown hair, wearing a pink bonnet cap with yellow flowers and she is holding a bouquet of yellow flowers. The oval shaped "frame" around her is done in green and black, and the accent flowers are done in pink, red, golden yellow and green with black embroidery going from side to side on each long side. This lovely vintage table runner of crochet lace, cotton linen and fine embroidery measures 37" x 12.5".
